If you aren’t convinced yet, here’s something to consider: according to a recent study, 24% of young people with no adult mentors never feel like their life has meaning or purpose, but just one adult relationship reduces that percentage to 6%.
Poema exists to empower students for just and fruitful lives by fostering holistic growth through mentorship. Whether you’re looking to mentor or be mentored, you’ve taken your first step just by being here. If you’re a college student in Chicago, then we want to see you paired with a safe, compassionate, and compatible adult in your neighborhood. If you’re an adult in the community, we will give you the tools you need to befriend, support, and minister to a student near you.
